About me
In Spain, a wealthy Russian-speaking clientele immediately comes under the scrutiny of financial authorities: frozen accounts, high taxes, red tape and strict laws. In such circumstances, ordinary advisers or translators are not enough. You need a trusted person with in-depth knowledge of the legal and tax intricacies and an insider’s understanding of the local system.
My name is Daria Kalmykova. Since 2013, I have been helping high-net-worth entrepreneurs and VIP clients to conduct their business, manage their assets and tackle the most complex challenges in Spain. My aim is to ensure that they can enjoy life in the country and run their businesses just as effectively as they are accustomed to doing in their home country.
My expertise stems from 30 years’ experience working at the intersection of Russian and foreign cultures, as well as 20 years’ practice in Spain, with a deep understanding of local legislation, the way of life and the country’s unique characteristics.

Foundation
As well as being fluent in Russian, Spanish, English and French, I have a deep understanding of the Russian and Spanish mentalities, as well as 30 years’ professional experience working with clients from all over the world dealing with high-end real estate, marketing, litigation and business.
I received my undergraduate education at the Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU), specializing in ‘Linguistics and Intercultural Communication’. My degree was subsequently officially certified and recognized by the University of Málaga (UMA). To ensure effective communication with Spanish government bodies, private entities and clients from various countries, I have certified my proficiency in Spanish (DELE) and French (DELF) at the C1 level in Spain.
Thanks to my extensive and varied work experience in Russia, Spain, the UK and France and due to my understanding of the Russian mentality, I have a non-standard approach to problem-solving and can tackle a wide range of issues in a way that achieves the desired outcome.

International business: from London to the Costa del Sol
In the early 2000s, I entered the field of premium property sales. At IntermarkSavills, I headed the luxury overseas property sales department, working in accordance with British and Russian market standards in collaboration with Savills’ London office. I sold high-end properties in Russia, France and the UK. My portfolio includes completed transactions involving premium properties in Moscow and London.
In 2007, I moved to the south of Spain, where I spent six years working on contracts, business process optimization and marketing for an international tourism company

Private practice
Since 2013, I have been running my own independent practice, helping Russian-speaking clients with a wide range of issues relating to life, business and property in Spain.
My work covers the full spectrum of services — from applying for residence permits and obtaining citizenship to providing comprehensive support for property transactions, managing purchased properties and organizing the lives of my clients and their families in Spain. I assist with finding, purchasing and registering properties, obtaining the necessary permits and licenses, managing lettings, tax optimization, bookkeeping and resolving other administrative and legal matters. My track record includes cases ranging from launching a business in the private aviation sector (including the logistics of helicopter tours, technical maintenance and the subsequent sale of a helicopter on behalf of a client) to successfully conducting legal proceedings.
